Power battery blue book (2019) to explore the development of power battery industry

China’s new energy vehicle power battery industry development BBS and “power battery blue book” (2019) press conference was held in nanjing on September 19.

The blue book is edited by China automotive technology research center co., LTD and dalian matsushita automotive energy co., LTD. It is a national key book publishing planning project during the 12th five-year plan and 13th five-year plan, and it examines the development of power battery industry. As mentioned in the blue book, the development of the power battery industry is facing a severe test under the background of the gradual decline of subsidies under the new policy and the emphasis on high-quality and low-cost development of new energy vehicles. At the same time, new development issues are proposed for relevant enterprises in China.

At present, China’s new-energy vehicle industry is large but not strong, which is largely related to the quality of power batteries in core parts, the blue book said.With the increase of the proportion of pure electric passenger car production and sales, three-way battery occupies the majority of the market share. In 2018, the total supporting quantity of ternary batteries surpassed lithium iron phosphate batteries in the first year, accounting for 58% of the market share. Lithium iron phosphate battery market share of 39%.However, from January to August 2019, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate, which was not dominant before, started the counter-attack.

Compared with ternary batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries have the advantages of lower production cost, higher thermal stability and longer cycle life, but the energy density and multiplier performance are far lower than ternary batteries. When the new energy subsidies prevail in the early stage, high-density ternary batteries are favored by many enterprises.

It is suggested that lithium battery enterprises can use tungsten oxide, molybdenum oxide and other transition metal compounds as modifiers of electrode materials.
