TZM and TZC molybdenum alloys
TZM alloy is a molybdenum base alloy containing 0.5%Ti, 0.08%Zr and 0.01% ~ 0.04%C，Because a small number of fine dispersive granular additives prevent molybdenum from growing at high temperature, In this way, the high temperature strength and recrystallization resistance are significantly improved. TZC alloy is a kind of molybdenum alloy with higher content than TZM alloy. It is an improved type of TZM molybdenum alloy, which has better effect of aging heat treatment. However, TZM alloy has not been replaced due to its high cost and difficult processing. Compared with pure molybdenum, TZM(or TZC) alloy has a higher recrystallization temperature and high temperature strength, so TZM molybdenum alloy is often selected as casting tools and high-temperature furnace devices, such as support frame, boat and plate. In the glass industry, TZM alloy instead of pure molybdenum materials of low carbon, because in the manufacture of glass, temperature > 1400 ℃, does not decompose active metal carbides, thus preventing the formation of air bubbles, improve the quality of the glass products, extend the service life of the molybdenum electrodes。In addition, TZM alloy can also be used for extrusion die of aluminum alloy and Ag-Cd alloy, anvil for hot heading, guide electrode, forging die and nozzle, etc.
MHC and ZHM alloys
MHC and ZHM alloys are strengthened by adding Hf instead of Ti to form biphase microstructure. ZHM has better properties than the MHC, The properties of alloys are closely related to the degree of machining deformation and the conditions of heat treatment. For example, in MHC system, mo-1hf-0.05 C alloy, When the forging deformation of spindle made of powder metallurgy reaches 60%, In 950 ~ 1250 ℃ temperature tensile strength is 20% higher than the TZM, the direction of elongation is 1% ~ 10%. ZHM system contains ZHM4, ZHM6, ZHM7,ZHM8 four component alloy. These alloys have excellent machinability high temperature strength and low temperature ductility.
Mo - W alloys
Tungsten alloying is used to increase the heat resistance of molybdenum. Because of adding 25% ~ 30% W, work temperature of the alloy increase about 200 ℃.Mo-W alloys can only be manufactured as parts, not as plates and wires. Mo-W alloy has slightly higher recrystallization temperature than pure molybdenum. It has excellent corrosion resistance to molten zinc, so its main application is in the zinc industry, such as for automatic die-casting machinery on the pump components, casting valves, siphon and nozzle.
Mo – Re alloys
Although rhenium is scarce and expensive, it is not only used in electronic industry because of its unique high thermal temperature and good plasticity, but also used as thermocouple wire and aerospace structure material with mo-5re and mo-41re, and mo-50re as high temperature structure material.
MH and KW molybdenum alloys
In order to solve the droop problem of molybdenum at high temperature, K, Si and Al are doped in molybdenum to increase the recrystallization temperature. Due to doping and single direction processing produce lap fiber structure, make the recrystallization temperature of pure molybdenum 1400 ℃ up to about 1800 ℃.When use even under the recrystallization temperature, still keep the ductility, doping molybdenum creep speed under 1800 ℃ lower than the pure molybdenum about 1000 times, not only is better than that of pure molybdenum and it also is better than that of TZM and rare earth elements, oxide of molybdenum alloy properties, so use it to make the parts even size remains stable at high temperatures.
In terms of strength and performance, doped molybdenum shows great advantages at high temperature. Although under 1000 ℃, TZM and pure molybdenum strength are higher than doped molybdenum. This means that the higher the temperature, the more effective the bubble strengthening.
